Accounts Preparation - Sole Traders, Partnerships, Limited Companies and Charities

The primary obligation of any business is to submit complete and accurate annual tax returns to HMRC, which for all businesses requires preparation of accurate business accounts.

Whether you are a sole trader or a partnership, we can prepare your business accounts from underlying records that you provide to us, such as receipts, invoices, bank statements or any other records, whether manual or computerised. The accounts we produce, in addition to supporting your tax return, can also be used to support loan or mortgage applications.

In addition to supporting tax returns, limited companies and registered charities have an added obligation to produce statutory accounts for submission to Companies House and the Charities Commission, respectively. For incorporated charities, accounts have to be submitted to both the Companies House and Charities Commission. We can prepare these formal statutory accounts from your Company’s or Charity’s underlying records and look after all the statutory submission requirements.

It should be noted that limited companies (and for that matter charities) must be able to produce accounts in statutory format at any time during its financial year. It is therefore a legal requirement for a company to maintain proper books of accounts from which accounts can be prepared at short notice. A company may have to do this when it receives a notice at its registered office, but in most cases, and for most companies, the need arises when dierctors wish to declare a dividend during the year. If you have any specific issues with mainatining your books of accounts as charity or limited company, you may wish to discuss that with us as soon as possible. Please refer to our book-keeping service.

It is possible that after preparing the business accounts, we may identify opportunities for potential cost savings or/and minimise tax liabilities. We will identify and discuss any such opportunities with you and help you achieve the optimum solution for you or your business.
