Personal Self Assessment Tax Returns and Planning

All self employed traders and professionals, and partners in a partnership, have to annually declare their income and submit a Self Assessment Tax Return to HMRC. This also applies to individuals in employment who may have sources of income other than through employment, dividends and interest, such as rental income from property. On the other hand, some individuals are unaware that if HMRC  does not send them a tax return to complete, they may be failing to claim overpaid tax.

Completing a tax return can be a daunting prospect. We can lighten the burden by completing and submitting your self-assessment tax return to HMRC on your behalf. All we ask of you is to supply us all the relevant information in time well before HMRC deadlines expire and we will take care of the rest. The earlier you provide us with this information the better. Not only you will be able to know your tax liability and make arrangements for its payment in advance, you will also receive a refund earlier if it is due.

In addition to completing your tax returns, we also offer personal tax planning advice to help minimise your tax bills, including Capital Gains Taxes, Retirement Planning and Inheritance Tax planning. In fact, following the submission of your return we will normally approach you with suggestions on how you might be able  reduce your overall tax bill by simply organising your affairs slightly differently. Please refer to our Tax Planning page.
